Welcome to every one!

WELCOME TO EVERY ONE
I decided to create this blog for several reasons. The first of all, because I think it´s nice to share your thoughts with the people you care, but also with all your network, call it friends, colleagues, ex fellowships, and new contacts as well. I would love to have my own website, but I don’t know how it works, if you have to pay, I am out already, and if you have to look for sponsor I’m knocked out! Anyway, the blog idea emerged smoothly and soon I realized all the benefits I could get from it!
Talking about the benefits, the first might sound egoistic, and it is that writing help to know yourself. And being read, if you get a feedback, will help you twice in this endless task! That´s right, I am, as I am sure every one of you is, in the process to get to know myself in deep. When I write I suddenly find out more thoughts that I could ever imagine I could produce. Well, I am overtaking it, but when you are beginning a new life in a country where there are not close friends (the only one just fled to Spain a couple of weeks ago), and without a real job - although looking! -, you really miss someone to talk with. And since I don’t have internet at home it gets so complicated to reach my friends and family; so I intensify the internal ego-alter talking and without notice, it comes out loud! Now I decide to make it visible in words so the people can relax and forget the idea I am getting crazy because I just talk to myself.
I call the second reason solidarity; solidarity with me and solidarity with my friends and family, who for whatever reason are away from their homes and might find this space a bit gezellig (Dutch word for cozy), to share different experiences of our daily life and make it more grateful. This idea comes from Access, to whom I owe my gratitude for maintaining me busy during the last the last two months: they came up with the idea in the last newsletter and I thought, well, why not? This is my chance!
Another reason, a really important one, came up thanks to the Millennium Development Goals Week. Many of you will ask: What’s that? I just hope, not too many. Well, the MDG tour, or week was a series of activities organized by NCDO, which is a sort of Non Profit Organization supported by the Dutch Government for Development. They invited me to participated because a combinations of facts, but whatever the reason it was, I was so honored to share the last week with a wonderful group of 8 people from different developing countries (Phipipines, Sudan, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Afganistan, Macedonia and Guatemala – But living in Ecuador-). We joined several activities that I will tell you in another blog. Anyway, focusing in the reason why I open this blog is because thanks to my participation in the MDG week I realized how important was to share our realities so we can understand better the world we are living in. There is so many things that we just don’t know, and sometimes it seems we live in our little crystal bubble. It is important to talk about what is happening to us, here in the Netherlands, in Colombia, in Sudan, In Philipines, in everywhere. Nowadays, we are not longer nationals of just one country, we are citizens of the world, and the things that are happening in the other extreme of the planet should be also our concern. It is a matter of awareness!
One final reason it´s because I am lucky to be in the Netherlands, but I could not have this fate. And I would like to share my experiences here with my friends, and also learn from them. You will see I will post some notes – legal notes – about a series of Conferences I´ve been attended, which I consider hold a great interest for many of my friends. And I really hope I can get some feedback as well.
Let’s see if this whole idea is actually good or I’m just fooling around. If you got to this point, it is a gain itself! Thanks and genieten van (Another Dutch word for enjoy it)
